What can data tell us about the months when the world stood still?

The COVID-19 pandemic is a public health emergency around the world, with shelter in place orders and lockdowns temporarily reshaping how we live our lives.

What can data about transportation, the economy, education, climate, and other areas tell us about this unique period in time?

Listed in the table below are select data sources that may help us analyze what changed in our countries and cities during the periods of extreme social distancing as we collectively work to flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19.

We made a deliberate decision to list peripheral data sources to explore what has happened in these months, not the case data. The COVID-19 case data is complex to analyze and model without subject matter expertise.
